Darrell Babidge

Darrell Babidge received his third degree in vocal performance from the Manhattan School of Music, funded by the Birgitt Nilsson scholarship. While he was still a student he performed the title role of Britten's Owen Wingrave with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera where he also performed other roles. Other operatic roles include Dandini, Silvio, Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Eugene Onegin, Falke, Guglielmo, Papageno, Ping, Count Robinson (Il Matrimonio Segreto), Nottingham (Roberto Devereaux) and Lionel (Maid of Orleans).

Conncert work include Melchior in Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors and Josef in Berlioz's L'Enfance Du Christ, both conducted by Kent Nagano; the Faure Requiem and Mozart's Mass in C at Carnegie Hall; and the title role in “The Redeemer” with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He also has a few recordings and TV appearances.
