Rory Connolly was born in Asunción, Paraguay but raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Adopted by two wonderful parents, he is the oldest amongst his siblings. After moving to New York in 2018, he decided to change his last name to match his look... Cabrera, his birth name.
Originally accepted as a Vocal Performance major at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, he later transferred to Westminster College of the Arts at Rider University to become a Music Theatre major. He had an extremely successful college career playing many diverse roles and was fortunate enough to perform in Surflight Theatre's South Pacific and Les Miserables. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theater Voice Primary Cum Laude. After graduation, he assistant directed, assistant music directed, choreographed and starred in a Frankie Valli Tribute show in Pigeon Forge, TN. He has also traveled across the United States to perform in many original productions such as Midtown Arts Center's first regional production of Motones V Jerseys (nominated for three Henry Awards), Johnnie Champagne / Frankie Avalon Backup Singer in Wedding Italiano Feat. Frankie Avalon in Wisconsin Dells, and completed a successful run in Busch Gardens Williamsburg's new a cappella show The Gift Of Harmony where he originated the role of Peter. One of his recent favorite roles, is Teen Angel / Vince Fontaine in Grease.
After moving to New York, Rory performed in The Limbo Lounge as The Guitarist and found minor success in commercial work. He's looking forward to participating in Broadway's Got Talent! With Tommy Tune at Feinstein's / 54 Below in May and Newsies at Axelrod Performing Arts Center in June.
