Chris Donovan is a lifelong singer and performer, and has been singing with choral groups and acting in musicals and plays ever since he could walk and talk, amassing over 15 musicals and 4 plays before leaving high school and adding to that through his years in college.

With over twenty years of professional experience in the theatre, Chris has studied Musical Theater at Circle in the Square Theater School as well as receiving his MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College and his MA in Directing from Roosevelt University at the CCPA. Additionally, Chris has trained with New York Movement Studio’s Physical Theater Institute, Speaking Shakespeare- Andrew Wade (Royal Shakespeare Company), Audition Technique- Heidi Griffiths (The Public Theater), Combat (BH Barry, Michael Chin), Intimacy  Kim Shivley, Greg Geffrard) along with many other workshops.

Chris is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA and the SAFD. He has been seen professionally as the Senator/Mayor in The National Tour of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Tommy DeVito in Jersey Boys at the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Harry Bright, and Mamma Mia with Plaza Theatrical, as well as Damn Yankees (The River Rep), A Flea in Her Ear (The River Rep), Midnight Clear (Riverside Theater), Shakespeare in Space (The Mint Theater), Cymbeline (The Brick Theater), Delilah (Midtown Festival), Pride and Prejudice (Theater for the New City), The Cherry Orchard (The Raw Space), Assassins (Gallery Players) along with many others. Chris has served as the Artistic Director of Owtava Hat Ensemble producing and performing in King John (The Producers Club II) and Twelfth Night (Todo Con Nada 45).

On film, Chis will be appearing as the lead of an upcoming festival short called How We Look premiering in 2025. Chris has also been seen on Rescue Me (FX), The Iceman and the Psychiatrist (HBO), 30 Rock (NBC), Saturday Night Live (NBC), White Collar (USA), Under New Management (The Movie Channel) as well as being featured in dozens of television, film and commercial spots.
